Pattern A surplus (when a campaign raises more than the actual job costs) flows into the pool by default. The pool funds free draws for the next person who can't quite cover their job — same caps, same public ledger.

How we report

• Every donor pledge is a row in the ledger (Stripe webhook → engine → ledger entry).
• Every provider charge (Anthropic / OpenAI / etc.) is a row.
• Every Pattern A surplus distribution is a row — to the pool, or as a Stripe refund.
• Daily reconciliation compares ledger spend vs the provider's billing API. Drift > 5% triggers a warning, > 15% a critical alert.
• Every operational decision an operator makes (kill switch, cap raise, manual refund) is logged.
