Who runs AnsarPool
AnsarPool is run by M Sarfaraz, a UK sole trader. It is not a registered charity, so donations are not eligible for Gift Aid. Email us at hello@ansarpool.org.
What AnsarPool does
AnsarPool is a crowdfunding site. Someone describes a project. We work out what the AI compute will cost, add a safety buffer, and set a funding goal. People pledge money. When the goal is met, the work runs and every cost is published on the public ledger.
We are not a bank, a charity, or a payment company. Stripe takes all card payments. We never see or store your card details.
If you pledge
- You must be 18 or over.
- We take payments in pounds (GBP) only, by card, through Stripe.
- We do not add a platform fee on top of your pledge. You pay the amount shown on the Stripe payment page, and nothing more.
- Stripe charges us a processing fee on your payment. We pay that fee, not you.
- A campaign's funding goal already includes our running costs and a share for the community pool. We build those into the goal instead of billing you a fee.
- If a campaign raises more than the work costs, your share goes to the community pool. That is what happens to every pledge today.
- Refunds follow the refund policy printed on each campaign page. Read it before you pledge.
If a campaign does not fund, we refund your pledge in full. Stripe keeps its processing fee even then. AnsarPool pays that out of its own reserve, so we never take it out of your refund.
You cannot yet choose a refund of surplus money. We are still building that choice. Until it works, every surplus share goes to the community pool. When it does work, a refund will only run if your share is £5 or more. Anything smaller will go to the pool.
If you start a campaign
Anyone can start a campaign. There is no invite. Nobody at AnsarPool checks your page before you publish it. In return you agree that:
- You are 18 or over.
- Your description is honest. Do not promise work you cannot do.
- You own what you post, or you have permission to use it.
- Your project is legal in the UK, and is not hateful, deceptive, or harmful.
- Every job runs under a hard budget cap. We cannot spend past the cap, even if the work needs more.
- We can refuse, pause, or take down a campaign at any time. We will tell you why.
What we do not promise
- We do not promise that a campaign will reach its goal.
- We do not promise that a funded project will succeed. AI work can fail.
- If a job fails after funding, we publish an incident report and refund you under that campaign's refund policy.
- We do not check every claim a creator makes. Tell us if something looks wrong and we will look into it.
- The site can go offline for maintenance, or if we stop the engine in an emergency.
Your money, on the record
Every pledge, every provider charge, and every surplus is a row on the public ledger. You can check it any time on the transparency page. We compare our recorded spend against the provider's own billing every day.
Your data
We keep your name or handle, your email, and your pledge records. We need them to run campaigns, send updates, and pay refunds. Stripe holds your payment details, not us. Ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete it, at hello@ansarpool.org.
Complaints
Email hello@ansarpool.org. Tell us what went wrong and we will look into it. If we cannot sort it out, you can also complain to your card issuer.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. The date below shows the last change. If a change is significant, we will say so on the site.
